Castleton-Schodack Kiwanis Club History
Since 1939, the Castleton-Schodack Kiwanis Club has served the Castleton-Schodack community, which is located in southern Rensselaer County in the beautiful Hudson Valley of upstate New York State. The club is composed of about 50 men and women who take part in a variety of service projects for our community and fund-raising activities to support these projects. For more information about the Club's community service projects and fund-raising activities, see the appropriate pages on this Web Site.
The Castleton-Schodack Kiwanis Club sponsors a Key Club for high school students, a Builders Club for middle school students, and K-Kids club for elementary students at the Schodack Central School District. For more information, see the Extracurriculars page on the school website: https://www.schodack.k12.ny.us/
In addition, Kiwanis sponsors Cub Scout Pac 253 and Troop 53 of the Boys Scouts of America, which has been important parts of the Castleton-Schodack community for many years.
The Club also sponsors the Ken Morgan Memorial Clove run, which consist of a 10-miler, 5k and 1-mile kids' fun run. It is usually held in the middle of August. All proceeds from the Clove Run are donated to the Anchor, the local food pantry. For more information, see the Clove Run Website https://www.cloverun.com/
